INDIA’S FIRST EVER CARBON CAPTURE AND UTILIZATION CENTRE TO BE ESTABLISHED:-
-“Indian Institute Of Technology”Bombay,has announced the establishment of national centre of excellence in Carbon Capture And Utilization(NCoE-CCU) .
-The centre will be established with support from the department of Science And Technology and the ministry of science and technology .
-The centre will be funded by the government of india and was formally sanctioned in December 2021 .

NCo-CCU:-
-The primary focus of research is involved in understanding the role of carbon dioxide in global climate .
-It focus on reduction strategies of the emission of carbon dioxide .
-This centre unlocks the potential of carbon capture and utilization(CCU) technologies .
-It will develop a problem oriented approach through capacity building programme .
-It will act as a multi-discipilinary and capacity-building hub in carbon capture and utilization .
-The national centre shall need India in potential induced sector to evolve as a circular carbon economy .

CARBON CAPTURE,UTILIZATION AND STORAGE(CCUS):-
-It is also referred as “Carbon Capture,utilization and sequestration .
-It is a process that captures carbon dioxide emission from sources like coal fined power plants .
-If reuses or stored emissions captured so it will not enter the atmosphere .
-Carbon dioxide storage in geologic formations includes oil and gas reservoirs and deep saline reservoirs .
-Globally,power and industry account for about 50 percent of all green house gas (GHG) emissions .

CARBON SEQUESTRATION OR CARBON DIOXIDE REMOVAL(CDR);-
-It is the long term removal,capture or sequestration of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere to slow or reverse atmospheric co2 pollution and to mitigate Global Warming .
-Carbon sequestration describes long term storage of carbon dioxide or other forms of carbon to either mitigate or defer global warming and avoid dangerious climate change .It has been proposed as a way to slow the atmospheric and marine accumulation of greenhouse gases, which are released by burning fossil fuels .
CARBON FAARMING-THE CROP FUTURE:-
Recently it is debated by people that carbon farming is going to be a new agricultural business model to-
-Fight climate change
-creating sustainable and environment friendly job market
-It may also cater problems related to food security .

WHAT IS CARBON FARMING:-
-A system of agricultural management that helps the land store more carbon .
-It reduces the green house gas released during agricultural process in the atmosphere .
-Carbon farming is used to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and convert it into plant material and soil organic matter .

CONCLUSION:-
-Carbon farming can make farmers aware about sequestration carbon that can be sold or traded in carbon markets that will be beneficial for farmers .
