CRA: THE ANSWER TO OUR PRAYERS

Climate Change can be defined as the considerable disparity in an ordinary climate that perseveres over a prolonged duration. This change may have been due to natural events or anthropogenic effects; however, reasonable credit goes to anthropogenic activities. This change in climate behavior leads to the loss of a large amount of crops each year. As a part of this, Climate Resilient Agriculture (CRA) has come to act to ensure food security with a sustainable approach, adaptation to climate change, and reducing the emissions of greenhouse gases. These three factors can be considered as the objectives of the CRA. The ideology of the CRA attempts to convert the negative impact of climate change on agriculture to a positive impact.
Cultivating crops that can withstand extreme climatic conditions is one of the most effective ways to ensure food security. On the other hand, it also helps reduce the environmental impact of carbon sequestration. The most commonly used strategies for achieving these goals are soil conservation, crop diversification, and quality water management.
Farmers focus on improving soil health by reducing the use of chemical pesticides and mostly use organic pesticides to improve yield and soil health. Growing crop varieties that can withstand extreme climate conditions is another way to enhance climate change adaptation. These practices ultimately lead to the achievement of the main objectives of climate-resilient agriculture.
One of the most concerning issues is the increased emission of greenhouse gases, which triggers global warming. According to the latest scientific literature, global warming leads to an imbalance on our planet, which ultimately leads to the destruction of human civilization. Optimization of livestock management, enhanced carbon sequestration, and reduced use of synthetic fertilizers help minimize the emission of greenhouse gases such as methane. Healthy soil helps absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, which has a significant role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Climate-resilient agriculture helps to adapt and mitigate the effects of climate change, promising food security by increasing crop yields and maintaining a consistent crop yield. In short, climate-resilient agricultural practices ensure food security, especially in this scenario of population explosion, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, which are a major threat to human existence. As a part of the CRA, climate-smart agricultural technologies are promoted, which can be expected as an answer to our prayers.
