Mystic Odisha

Puri

Konark Sun Temple

The Konark Sun Temple is a monumental 13th-century temple in Odisha, India, dedicated to the Hindu sun god, Surya. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1984, the temple is renowned for its architectural grandeur, intricate stone carvings, and masterful engineering.

The Lingaraj Temple is a major Hindu temple located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Simlipal National Park

Similipal National Park, located in the Mayurbhanj district of Odisha, is a sprawling and ecologically significant protected area. It is a national park, a tiger reserve, and a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, renowned for its stunning natural beauty, diverse wildlife, and rich ecosystem. The park is named after the abundant red silk cotton trees ("simul") that blossom here.

Bhitarkanika National Park

Bhitarkanika National Park, located in the Kendrapara district of Odisha, is a sprawling wildlife sanctuary and Ramsar wetland famous for its dense mangrove forests and rich biodiversity. It is often referred to as India's "Mini-Amazon" and is home to a massive population of saltwater crocodiles, including some of the largest in the world. The park was formerly a hunting ground for the Kanika kings before being declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1975.

Satkosia Tiger Reserve

Satkosia Tiger Reserve is a large, protected forest area in Odisha, renowned for its spectacular scenery and the majestic Mahanadi River, which flows through a dramatic gorge at its heart. It was established in 2007 by merging the Satkosia Gorge Wildlife Sanctuary and the Baisipalli Wildlife Sanctuary.

Daringbadi

Daringbadi is a hill station and eco-tourism destination in the Kandhamal district of Odisha, India. It is often called the "Kashmir of Odisha" due to its cool climate, serene landscapes, and lush greenery. Situated at an altitude of 915 meters (3,002 feet), the area is known for its beautiful valleys, thick pine jungles, coffee plantations, and the rare experience of snowfall during winter.

Koraput

Koraput is a district in the southern part of Odisha, known for its pristine natural beauty, rich tribal culture, and verdant coffee plantations. Nestled within the Eastern Ghats, it features lush valleys, cascading waterfalls, and rolling hills, including the highest peak in Odisha. Its mild climate and natural splendor have made it a hub for eco-tourism.

Hirakud Dam

The Hirakud Dam, constructed across the Mahanadi River in Odisha, is a major multipurpose river valley project and one of the world's longest earthen dams. Built after India's independence, it serves to control floods, generate hydroelectric power, and provide irrigation to large parts of the state. The dam also creates the vast Hirakud Reservoir, one of Asia's largest artificial lakes, which is a key tourist destination.
