Profile

Dr Pardeep Kumar Bhardwaj has more than 15 years working experience on plant bioresources of Northeastern and Western Himalaya. He is invloved in Phytopharmaceutical Mission and working on metabolomics, transcriptomics & genomics approaches to identify molecules/ genes/ enzymes form medicinal plants of NER. He is exploring the biosynthetic pathways of therapeutically important secondary metabolites, genes involved in regulation of metabolic pathways and characterization of pathway genes for enhancement of secondary metabolites. He is working on development of DNA barcodes for medicinal plants of NER. He is also working on understanding the molecular basis of adaptation of plant species in high altitude of Northeastern Himalaya.

Current Focus Areas

  •  Metabolites profiling of therapeutically important medicinal plants under Phytopharmaceutical Mission.

  •  Transcriptomics & genomics analysis to identify biosynthetic pathways in medicinal plants.

  •  Differential expression analysis of pathway genes for enrichment of secondary metabolites.

  •  Development of DNA barcodes for medicinal plants of NER.
