Profile

Working on single entity and multi-component bioactive natural products that may serve as leads for the development of new pharmaceuticals which may address therapeutic needs. In order to achieve the above goals, we are engaged in identification, isolation and purification of bioactive phyto-constituents from selected medicinal plants for further testing and subsequent use as either single entity pharmaceutical ingredient or component of standardized multi-component botanical products.

Current Focus Areas

  • Isolation and structure determination of organic products of medicinal significance from plants, studies on the structure , biochemistry and evaluation of biochemical effects of these active constituents for anti-inflammatory,anti-diabetics and anti-malaria.
