Dr. Senapati obtained his Bachelors of Veterinary Science (BVSc) degree from the Odisha Veterinary College in the year 2002. After working as a field veterinarian for a short period of time, in 2005 he moved to Nebraska Medical Centre USA and pursued his PhD on Pancreatic cancer metastasis. In 2010, he joined Ohio state university comprehensive cancer centre and carried out his postdoctoral training on generation of genetically modified mouse models with mutated E2f8 gene. He joined ILS in 2012 and leads the tumour microenvironment and animal models group.
Current Focus Areas
(1) Targeting the crosstalk between pancreatic cancer cells and cancer-associated stromal cells such as fibroblasts and immune cells
(2) To analyse the effect of microbes on progression and/or response to conventional therapies of different cancers
(3) Bioprospecting useful microbes with health promoting properties
