Profile

Prof. Das is a microbiologist trained at (i) Indian Institute of Technology-Kharagpur (M.Tech. 2003), (ii) CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Biology-Kolkata (Ph.D. 2008), (iii) CNRS-Institute of Integrative Biology of the Cell, France (Postdoc. 2011), and (iv) Osaka University (JSPS Fellow, 2017), Japan. His major research focus is to understand the functional repertoires of the human microbiome and develop live biotherapeutics against NAFLD, IBD, sepsis, and PTB. He has published more than 123 peer-reviewed publications in prestigious journals, including The BMJ, PNAS USA, Nature Communications, and Genome Medicine, J, Med. Virol.

Current Focus Areas

  • Understand the genomic and metagenomic repertoires of the human microbiome for biotherapeutic discovery and development.
