I am at the helm of the Division of Laboratory Medicine & Molecular Diagnostics, focusing on diagnosing infectious and non-infectious diseases using cutting-edge molecular strategies, including next-generation sequencing. Our laboratory is one of India's elite five grade 1 virology labs. We hold accreditations from various national and international organizations and serve as an approved testing and validation center by the CDSCO. Furthermore, the division is endorsed by the General Medical Council for postgraduate medical student rotations.
Current Focus Areas
Translational research. Creation of a lateral flow device for identifying snake species in snakebite cases, followed by the development of a portable reader for quantifying the payload.
Pharmacogenomics. Development of a predictive marker for drug metabolism using a pharmacogenomics strategy to mitigate adverse effects caused by Tacrolimus in transplant recipients.
Infection marker development. Jointly developed a diagnostic device based on multiplex melt-curve analysis for the early detection of sepsis caused by various pathogens.
